Family and Family Concession members are required to complete 5 duty sessions a year. Committee, grandparents and short term members are not required to attend duty sessions. A blank duty roster for the next term is placed at the toy library so that members may allocate themselves a session that suits them. At the end of each term the roster is removed and any blank spaces filled with members who haven't put their name down themselves or haven't completed their 5 duties for the year. The completed roster and newsletter is posted to all members before the term commences. If you find your rostered duty conflicts with another commitment then it is simply a matter of arranging to swap duties with another member on the roster. We are happy to have mums, dads or grandparents fulfill the duty session and children are always welcome to attend while you are doing your duty.
Assisting at fundraising events such as a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle or our annual Toy and Baby Goods Market also counts as a duty.
When you are rostered for a duty you arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to assist with set up. During the session you will be checking in the toys as they are returned and then assisting with packing up after the session has finished. We have a session coordinator who is present at every session to help things run smoothly.
Duty sessions are a great way to get to know some other families in the area. You get a good look at toys you may not have noticed before as you check them in. You also get first choice of any new toys released while you are doing duty.
Pop in to any of our sessions and we can show you our range of toys. Bring along cash or your cheque book (we don't take credit cards or eftpos) and if you like what you see you can join on the spot and start borrowing straight away.
