Toys

When purchasing toys for the toy library we look for toys from popular brands such as Little Tikes and Fisher Price but also source many toys that are not widely available from toy shops. We look for toys that are sturdy, hard wearing and easily cleaned. In recent years we have been building up our collection of wooden toys.

Our toys are organized into categories:

'A' - Activity

These are large toys such as slides, ride-ons, kitchens, walkers and puppet stages.

'B' - Baby

Baby's first toys to encourage them to reach out and grasp objects such as rattles

'C' - Construction

Toys that encourage creativity and fine motor skills. As children progress they also develop the ability to follow instructions. For example wooden blocks, duplo and meccano.

'D' - Developmental

Encourage hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills with threading, shape sorters, and stacking.

'F' - fun and imagination

Understand and explore the world and their imagination. For example: small dolls houses, picnic sets, garages, medical kits.

'G' - Games

A wide variety of games from simple classics such as dominoes through to more complicated family games.

'J' - Jigsaws

From simple 3-4 piece puzzles for beginners through to more challenging interlocking and multi-level puzzles.
