Dear Toy Library Member,

ELTHAM LIBRARY TO CLOSE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

As of 20/3/2020, the Eltham Toy Library Committee has been notified by Nillumbik council that all halls and multipurpose rooms are now closed as part of its response to the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

Unfortunately, this means that the Toy Library has to close all our borrowing sessions as of the 20/3/2020. The committee was hoping that we could have 1 more borrowing session before this happened but due to the ever-changing nature of the restrictions, and to ensure the safety and wellness of everyone, we are unable to.

The committee caught up last night to work through what this means for the Eltham Toy Library and our wonderful members.

  1. The toy library will remain closed until further notice.

At this point, the committee will review the current situation, along with guidance from the council, and will advise if this is to be extended.

  1. All toys that are currently on loan will have their loan times extended in line with the closure period.

This means that you will be able to enjoy your toys at home and get the most out of them. We kindly ask that you ensure that you keep track of all the pieces during this extended loan period so that they can be returned in one piece when we are back up and running.

If you do need to return the toys, for example, if you are moving house, please let us know by contacting us on etlmembers@gmail.com so that we can arrange a collection.

  1. All current membership periods will be paused until 1/5/2020. This means that you won’t miss out on any borrowing time on your membership.

The Eltham Toy Library will continue to be guided by Toy Libraries Australia, the government, and Nillumbik council on how best to manage this situation. We will provide you with relevant updates as they arise.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns relating to this, please contact us at etlmembers@gmail.com

On a personal note, I would just like to thank all of our fantastic members for their ongoing support during these difficult times, and can’t wait to see you all back when we reopen.

I would also like to thank our wonderful committee members who have pulled together over the last week or so to ensure we are doing everything right by our members and the toy library under  evolving and challenging circumstances

It has been a pretty crazy start to 2020, but I know that we will all get through this if we stick together, and work together as one big community.

Regards,

Scott Jordan
